About Nishad:-
Bollywood music is a vibrant and versatile genre that has gained immense popularity. Introducing it to the western community is a wonderful way to showcase any aspiring musician or singer to sing along and listen to their favorite Bollywood classic and contemporary songs.
Born in 2023, in New Jersey USA, NISHAD is an energetic and versatile Live Bollywood Band that showcases local musicians and singers to collaboratively perform a wide variety of Bollywood music. These performers blend western and eastern influences in their playing and are dedicated to introducing Bollywood culture to the western community.
NISHAD aspires to make this vision a reality by retaining authenticity with Bollywood music while introducing a western flavor. These musicians and singers are veterans of the Bollywood industry and have performed with national and international acts throughout the States. Our goal is to fuse western and eastern influences together and build a creative space where like minded performers can express their passion on stage
Initially formed in 2017, the musicians in NISHAD are Alex Glass on keyboard and melodica, David Graham on woodwinds, Jim Fell on electric bass, and Jit Chatterjee on drums/percussion and playback engineering. These musicians are regionally recognized through their performances with the New Jersey All-State Jazz Band and Orchestra Ensembles. Moreover, Jit Chatterjee was the lead drummer for Bollywood playback singer Sudesh Bhosle on his 2019 Durga Puja USA tour. Both Alex Glass and David Graham have graduated with their master’s degrees in music composition and music education respectively.
Additionally, the singers of NISHAD have an impressive resume themselves. These energetic performers have sung Bollywood songs at an international level in the Bollywood industry. Classically trained vocalist Neeti is a Sa Re Ga Ma finalist who sang under the Zee TV banner, Seasoned vocalist Raj has performed on international stages and Sunita is ‘Sangeet Visharad” recipient.
